Inserting snippet code !

Is there a script, or a way to insert a snippet of code into every html and php file in a folder automatically? I don't want to make use of php include. I want the codes hardwritten individually into each page. Is there a way to do it ?

I am sure there are some tools out there, there are also Server Side Includes (SSIs) which you may want to look at?
