This is not my tutorial - I take no credit.

Step 1

This is how it should look after our tutorial is over.

Step 2

Duplicate the background layer 2 times and rename them to "layer1" and "layer2".
Layer2 should be at the top

Step 3

Flip vertical "layer2"

step 4

Hide layer 2

Step 5

Now you'll select the road, you have to be very careful.
i used the polygonal lasso tool, it's up to you if you prefer another way to select the road .

Step 6

inverse selection than make layer2 visible

Step 7

press delete to delete the selection

Step 8

set the blending mode of layer2 to soft light

Step 9

Set the blending mode for layer1 to overlay

Step 10

Now for the final touches to make your picture look more real use the burn tool on the grass and the trees and anywhere should have been wet from the rain.
voila

Wow, that is an awesome tutorial! I have been using Photoshop for many years but don't know how to do a lot, definitely nothing like that. I am thinking of trying out the Photoshop Classroom in a Book to get me going. I just upgraded from the old 5.5 to CS3 and man oh man what a difference!

It looks good, but it looks more of a mirror than wet road!
