Like the topic suggests - what is your main (prefered) webbrowser. Apart from simply being an interesting topic, it astonishes me that HTML parsing is so browser dependant that a page which looks great in one browser can sometimes be unsuccesful in another.

As well as this, when creating webpages, what browsers do you test them in?

I prefer FireFox, but on my desktop PC I only have IE7 but I don't like it.

I usually test in Firefox and then in IE as I don't have any of the other popular browsers.

Right, same as me then as far as testing goes.  I would guess that IE and firefox account for the major percentage of browsers out there.

Well when it comes to just net surfing I prefer FireFox so I voted for it, But when it comes to development (web development) and test some code written then I first test it with Internet Explorer 6 and then with Internet explorer 7, and then on FireFox. I always prefer to have web development such that the project looks almost identical on all these browsers.

Yes really interesting, FireFox was launched as an experient and it took no much time to become so much popular.

Amazing most votes goes to FireFox, and will love to see how votes IE can gain against FireFox?

It will be like most interesting Election on the Internet.

lol! Well I think its illustrative of the forum community, I suppose it indicates that generally people who are a bit more aware use something other than IE - of course quite a vast generalisation

I have a feeling I might be the only one, except maybe the person that has no clue about what they are choosing and choose IE by mistake lol

Well lol don’t worry, If you ask me, I have voted for FireFox that’s because I love it and use most of the time when I am online at home and surf the net.

But when I am at my work desk in company I prefer to use Internet Explorer, that because I don’t have to just surf the internet but at the same time I have to test to see if the work done is working properly on IE or not. That time IE is my preference.

Firefox is really the best option when designing website - especially with all the plugins (be sure to get Firebug and Web Developer Toolbar).

I think if you are taking designing websites seriously though, you need to use pretty much all other browsers for testing. The main question is when will we stop bothering with IE6!!!  sleeping

Probably a fairly accurate one too, I know from personal experience most of my site's traffic is from Firefox users any more.

FireFox for life. IE is a total joke, and other browsers have a long way to go to live up to the fantastic built-in and add-on features of FireFox.

FireFox 13-1, not even close.

Telling that we, the webmasters and programmers of the current generation are taking to this browser over IE, bodes well for the future.
