VB Losing its Shine |

Dont you think Guys That Visual Basic is loosing its shine over the period with C# and Java becoming everybody's first preference............. But i think That VB is a great language very easy to learn and very-2 user friendly especially when we have to connect it to a database.....................

Yes, I think there are far better alternatives out there for serious programmers. Having said that, I do think its useful for beginners (which is what the B stands for after all!)

i dont thik so visual basic loosing its shine. it is still usable language. in terms of new development of a new one project the number of usage has affacted but if we are looking for the projects most of them are go live and in maintainence mode with still VB.

I love visual basic i just started learning it i love that you can use a interface other than notepad then again thats to design forms? or could you use microsoft visio save it as a form and design the code in notepad and join them together?

Is learning VB your first language? I do think VB is an excellent choice as a 1st language, and you get some really nice results with it. I have to agree, I do like the IDE with VB - its nice to use and responsive.
Unfortunately, BASIC isn't a great language to develop heavy weight projects in - when you have some level of knowledge about VB, compare it with other languages (such as Java) to see the differences.

i dont think vb losing shine every language has its own respect own tool may be other language came like java more fast then vb but vb does not losing shine it is still a language

i think it is still viable.. because why would it still be taught in school if its out of phase already?
