Did anyone here learn Html/xhtml/dhtml etc from w3schools.com? I find it a great website for beginners, it's where i learned HTML.
If someone doesn't know dhtml/xhtml etc and wants to go to a place that will easily teach you, i suggest you go to w3schools.com  thumb

I agree. In my IT classes when web design came up the teacher told everyone what he wanted them to do, to go to W3Schools and to get on with it. Excellent site to learn from.

I started learning XHTML and HTML off of w3schools but I pretty much learned most of it on my own. Mostly just from reading source codes and it's pretty easy to tell what does what in an HTML source. I have quite a bit of knowledge in this but I've known it for so long that it doesn't even matter anymore, haha.

Yes, this is where I originally learnt HTML, although not CSS. I was very proud of the site I made (simple text with a marquee). It is a great resource for new and old HTML programmers alike.

Yeah, totally.  I took their courses on HTML, XML, and CSS.  The cool thing about W3schools is that they also offer a certification as well for less than 60 bucks.  I think it's Certified Web Developer, and it includes HTML, XML, and CSS.  The site is also set up for easy reference, so that you can refer back to it when you get stuck which I like a lot.  My next project is to pick up PHP.  Hopefully my base knowledge from W3schools will help with that! thumb

I use it every now and then, but I can't remember where I learnt HTML from. It wasn't there, I can say that much.

EDIT: Apparently I can't remember how to spell, either. Where should not have a double R!  oops

I didn't learn HTML there either. I actually bought some web design books when I was learning how to construct sites originally.

W3C Stands for the World Wide Web Consortium..
The most important work done by the W3C is the development of Web specifications (called "Recommendations") that describe communication protocols (like HTML and XML) and other building blocks of the Web.
