Borland C++ is my choice. Been using it since I started my programming class. No reasons to change it. Works fine

I have completed one paper on C++, and in doing so would generally use Borland Builder. Although as I am a fan of open source I did try out Dev C++.

I would be interested to see some performance testing of GCC vs other proprietary compilers. Anyone know where there is some? I would *guess* that GCC would come out worse.....

I use the GCC compiler for my C++ programs.GCC compiler is a very efficient compiler and it gives you a model of working in the unix environment. It really helped me when I had run programs based on UNIX.The procedure for executing the programs are similar.

GCC is good - and its free I also like the quantity and quality of tools which come with it to assist in development (such as GDB)

I prefer to Visual C++ Express 2010 and I'm also fundamentally a Windows developer with absolutely no cross-platform experience let alone Linux or Mac development. Though I can't help but expect to rectify that some time in the future not that it's in a matter now since I am just doing small projects.

I generally trust Borland C++ for the last 3 years. Last months I am think about using DevCp++, just for the change. I am trying to figure out if their is any disadvantage with DevCp++.
