how do you generate your ideas for design?

I try to look at other designs and books to see what looks most appealing or what the person I am designing for would like.

You must do a rough sketch before can make a design properly. You can also do a mind map before that too. After you have the idea list, you can easily make your own design with your imagine in your sketches. shiny

I do that as well, I look at other designs for inspiration. But I look at TONS of designs before I start, and put all the good ideas I get together. I've been able to come up with some pretty nice stuff lately, and it's been just out of the top of my head.

Im a cheat. I buy good designs in PDF format off resonable graphic designers who are less known. I then code the design myself and there you have it a functioning Web 2.0 design shiny

Designing is a tough Job and it needs creativity. Every time when i think about any design it is a combinations of existing designs that i have already made or new designs from any existing templates. I spent lots of time to find a good design. it is really a very tough job.
