Hi . .

all is in the title . .

Any good reasons to validate your website except raising w3c. org pagerank (even if it's pr10 for now)

Yes, personally I prefer to have w3c validations done.

I feel that having that validation of compliance shows that the coding for a site is accurately and efficiently organized.  One way I was taught when learning how to program was if you design a program or website for a company and then you leave that company, how easy will the next person be able to interpret the code and make changes if necessary.

Good point ..
But there are for example some java script codes not accepted by the w3c validation .. what do you do about that ..

In that case, obviously you can't really use the validator for w3c.  But even if the w3c validation doesn't work or isn't supported for a certain snippet of javascript, as stated in your example, I would then rely on basic XHTML compliance.

Maybe .. But with the rise of the Jquery technology and the infinite possibilities that it gives, it will be hard to just use xHTML (especially because SE are able now to read and understand the JS part ..)

It makes sense to. Keeps check to see if your code is in standard check, and is pretty show-offy.

Addtionally, if you have things like screen readers for the blind which will interpret a page - always works best when the page "conforms"
