hi,
i am a new member
i have registered to get help in java which i am learning recently and i am still a beginner
so far , i learn all the beginning stuff,
data types, loops conditions etc, and a little bit of GUI
the point is that i don't know how to move on
i still have to learn much more than that
but i cant just keep learning from online resources
so i thought i would get a book.
a search was done in amazon.com of the best java book
and i found three of them
1.
Head First Java (Author : Bert Bates, Kathy Sierra)
2.
Java In A Nutshell, 5th Edition (Author : David Flanagan)
3.
Objects First With Java: A Practical Introduction Using BlueJ (2nd Edition) (Author : Michael Kölling)
these were the best books of learning java on amazon
except the second one ( i prefer the newer edition )

I used to use the BlueJ book to help teach undergraduates, it is not nesc the best though - what ever works for you

I would suggest for any book from wrox publications, if you can find.
I found them easy to understand and good source of information.

According to me you should have to use balaguruswamy and Complete reference. These both are very good books for learn JAVA theories as well as Practical. You can also find some nice tutorial on Internet.

I became thorough in JAVA and OOPS with the help of "Prentice Hall Java", but it might be different from the reader to reader.

According to me you should soul to use balaguruswamy and Realized recommendation. These both are very ripe books for discover Island theories as fountainhead as Applicable. You can also experience whatsoever metropolis tutorial on Net.
