make a database using excel files as input

Good day to all,

First let me describe my work. . I am responsible in updating the metrics in our company. The company is composed of different departments and each department have different excel formats and i need the data from these departments and often times the data I needed is placed on different excel files and different format. . . currently there is another excel file which is linked into different excel of the different department and we manually update it like data. . edit links. do you have any suggestions on how to make my work faster through database programming. .

really need help. . everyday i'm spending much of the time just to update the excel and i no longer have time to analyze the results i really need your help. . :sad2
