How do you make a seach light effect?

I am trying to figure out a way to make a search light effect so that it looks like two of those huge movie premier search lights crossing paths in front of the Hollywood sign. Anyone know what I mean or have any suggestions? I can't seem to find an adequate explanation or tutorial online yet. Thanks!

I'll saw this effect before at dynamicdrive.com. I don't remember in which section it is but it is exactly as you want. Have a search there.

This is something interesting, i had checked this in behalf of you in google, but found nothing much. I have a friend, i will ask for his help in few days and get post it here if he knows about this.

try polygonal lasoo
then a gradient from white to opacity 0%
circular lasoo and draw the spot

or

Filter > Render > Lighting Effects

try to find you tube video i will paste for u url of you tube but if i paste ur may be admin ban me so that i can tell u just type on you tube ( make seach light effect) and 3rd video will show u
