I prefer wordpress too. I had a blog with wordpress.
Wordpress have good variety of options in their admin section plus they have lot of addon plugins.
AH! even there are lot of free templates available on the internet for wordpress blogs which can be easily installed.

It really depends what website you are making, but Wordpress with all in one SEO plugin with a site map plug in with plus tags with pings make it better from an SEO perspective. WordPress is amazing, you can do so much with such simplicity!

I definitely prefer WordPress. BlogSpot is good but I like the flexibility WordPress allows. Plus, it doesn't hurt that there are a ton of WordPress plugins out there.

Definitely self-hosted Wordpress. It is really the choice of most professional bloggers and with due reason. It is very fast, powerful, and easily customizable. The flexibility and large userbase really make it the best option and allows anyone to have a professional blog within minutes.

WordPress hands down. Self-hosted of course. Since it is your blog, you really want to make it personal and customize it as much as possible. With Blogger or WordPress.com, you are extremely limited, and technically, your content is owned by someone else. Honestly, go self-hosted WordPress if you really like blogging.

2008-2009 is a period when a lot of blogspot user migrate to wordpress. But i'm still for blogspot until March 2010. At march 2010, i try to make wordpress blog. I find there is a lot of feature which not available in blogspot platform. Just say : "read More" with one click, customized themes control panel, interesting plug-in, a hundred of themes, etc. . . . I'm now LOVE WORDPRESS very much.
I need not a long time to adapt with wordpress. It's really easy-for-use. So, my choice is wordpress. Wordpress is the best.

There is something funny about blog with own hosting server. In the first, i'm asking how to make my blogspot account hosted at own hosting server, and people in some forum is laughing at me. Their said it's waste to make blogspot blog in own hosting. Their reffer me to wordpres. That's the time i'm using wordpress for the first time.

Yes, and just to inform. Wordpress have 2 types of account, paid and free one. Only if you're using a paid one, that you're allowed to monetization your blog. Monetization in a free wordpress is forbidden. Welcome to wordpress world Now, i have 3 wordpress blog

@akira07: Are you sure about the paid wodpress blog?
I think wordpress is free open source software for blogs. I have my blog and I haven't paid anything to wordpress and still I can use different ad networks on my blog.

That's what i know about wordpress. That is wordpress.org and wordpress.com. You can't use wordpress.com for monetization. If you want to monetize, then go for wordpress.org (installing wordpress in your own hosting using fantastico or other add-on). But correct me if i wrong

If you plan on keeping your blog for a long time, it is better to get your own domain and install wordpress yourself. Many great bloggers have started out on Blogger or Wordpress.com and then wanted to customize beyond the limits of those platforms. When they leave, then they have to redirect all the links and their traffic can suffer as a result. With hosting and domain names so inexpensive, it makes sense to pay up front for most people. Of course, you can always try the free stuff for a few months first, and then decide.

I'm gonna go WordPress on this one. Firstly, I run my blog with it by self-hosting and secondly it takes two seconds to set up on self-hosting (the setup process is dead easy). It also has integrated update functionality - BUT then again Blogger is always run by someone else so you don't have to update it.
I also find WP easier to use, and I just write all of my posts in the WYSIWIG editor there. I keep getting frustrated with Blogger and I often have to jump to HTML coding to get it to do what I want, but WP and I are buddies.

Those who want free blog solution without paying anything for hosting and domain can go for blogger.
You just need an blogger account to start with your own blog. Similar to wordpress there are enough templates for blogger too, and these can be installed easily on to your blog.
Generally to check your self whether you can actually blog or not, blogger is best option. After couple of months if you are sure that you have enough time and talent to maintain your blog then go for wordpress self hosted blog. We can easily trasfer all the previous posts from old blogger blog to new wrodpress blog.
Its all easy.

Wordpress offers blogs in much the same manner as Blogger does - i.e. one that WordPress hosts, but you run. While self-hosting is a better way of running your website as you can be assured that the only reason you should ever get disconnected is if you forget to pay, and you can basically do what you want on it, a Wordpress-hosted blog is a good place to cut your teeth on blogging.
Having said that, though, Blogger is quite good. I just think WP is more polished.

Because of the incorporated search engine friendly CMS, endorsement of WP blogs have turned simpler in contrast to other blog mediums. WP blogs have numerous extensive attribute that are similar.

I prefer wordpress, but sometimes the blogger has advantages like Javascript is allowed using which you can efficiently track down your visitor, where are they from, what browser they use, How much time they spend and many more. But for this you have to add a HTML widget and a HTML code given by a third party web stats company like . I was wondering if anyone had any problems trying to create a widget for Wordpress.com. I've been having some trouble as they do not appear to accept JavaScript code whereas creating one for Wordpress.org has not been a problem.
Jackie.
